Uptime is a major problem, at least once every 90 days
there is some type of downtime issue. They have no
phone support so you have to wait for a support ticket
email response. The did usually respond within an hour
or so but not always to my satisfaction.
About a
year or so ago ezhost did a system upgrade that not
only caused downtime but compromised and lost my client
database info. They never notified me or warned me they
were doing the upgrade. I only found out there was a
problem when a client contacted me to tell me their
site was down. At this point I had around 10 clients
hosting on my resell account and decided to move most
of my clients to a more reliable hosting service that
has 24/7 phone service. I did keep one foot in
ezhosting with a few clients because I had been with
them for about 5 years and felt they deserved some
loyalty. BUT, this last time there was downtime that
was almost catastrophic, not only was my site down but
all my resold accounts were down and the kicker was the
ezhost site was also down. A client that tracks their
online traffic closely noticed their site was down all
day. They called me in a panic fearing they could
potentially loose 10's of thousands of dollars in
sales and my fear was litigation do to loss of sales.
Loyalty only goes so far! With their sit being down I
could not go through there Support Ticket System. In a
panic to talk to someone I did a whois search to find
out if I could get a phone number to call. When I
called the number you could not talk to anyone you had
to leave a message and they would get back to you. They
did have an EMERGENCY option that I did leave a message
on with NO response. I think I'm finally completely
done with ezhost. FYI, I goggle mapped the address
provided in whois and it seems to be a residential home
this business is run from. My understanding is that
servers are supposed to be in a extremely controlled
environment, hope this guy's basement is clean???
Note: For over a year the clients I moved to the other
